Abstract

Kemampuan melakukan praktek swamedikasi merupakan salah satu kompetensi utama bagi apoteker. Penelitian terdahulu pada kasus swamedikasi dispepsia dengan tanda bahaya (perlu dirujuk ke dokter) menunjukkan kemampuan mahasiswa (S1) maupun apoteker masih sub-optimal, namun penelitian ini masih perlu dikonfirmasi dengan lebih banyak variasi kasus swamedikasi dispepsia dengan rujukan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan ketepatan pemberian rekomendasi dan alasan pemberian rekomendasi pada kasus swamedikasi dispepsia dengan tanda bahaya oleh mahasiswa S1 farmasi. Penelitian potong-lintang dengan menggunakan kuesioner yang berisi pertanyaan terbuka terkait rekomendasi dan alasan pemberian rekomendasi pada kasus vignette swamedikasi dispepsia dengan tanda bahaya dilakukan di salah satu fakultas farmasi di Jawa Timur. Content analysis digunakan untuk analisis jawaban partisipan. Sebanyak 116 dari total populasi 162 mahasiswa mengikuti penelitian. Dari 116 partisipan, 107 (92%) dapat memberikan rekomendasi tepat dengan alasan yang tepat, yaitu merujuk pasien ke dokter karena adanya tanda bahaya atau alasan lain yang dianggap tepat. Kemampuan mahasiswa pada penelitian ini sudah cukup optimal dalam memberikan rekomendasi pada kasus swamedikasi dispepsia dengan tanda bahaya. Penelitian lanjutan pada institusi pendidikan lain diperlukan untuk mendapatkan gambaran yang lebih komprehensif terkait kemampuan mahasiswa S1 farmasi sebagai calon apoteker Indonesia dalam menangani swamedikasi.
