Efektivitas Manual Visceral Physiotherapy terhadap Regulasi Tekanan Darah pada Lansia dengan Hipertensi Esensial: Sebuah Studi Pra-Eksperimental

Abstract

Hipertensi esensial merupakan salah satu penyebab utama morbiditas dan mortalitas global, terutama pada populasi lansia. Intervensi non-farmakologis seperti Manual Visceral Physiotherapy (MVP) mulai banyak dikembangkan sebagai pendekatan alternatif untuk membantu menurunkan tekanan darah tanpa efek samping farmakologis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas MVP terhadap perubahan tekanan darah sistolik dan diastolik pada pasien lansia dengan hipertensi esensial. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain pra-eksperimental dengan pendekatan one group pretest-posttest terhadap 11 responden berusia ≥46 tahun yang menjalani 12 sesi MVP selama 4 minggu. Tekanan darah diukur sebelum dan sesudah intervensi menggunakan sfigmomanometer dan dianalisis dengan uji Wilcoxon Signed Rank. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata tekanan darah sistolik menurun dari 162 mmHg menjadi 129 mmHg, dan diastolik dari 96 mmHg menjadi 81 mmHg, dengan nilai p = 0,003 yang menunjukkan penurunan signifikan. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa MVP efektif dalam menurunkan tekanan darah pada pasien lansia dengan hipertensi esensial dan berpotensi dijadikan sebagai terapi komplementer dalam praktik fisioterapi.
