Abstract

Work-related stress is common and affects physical and mental well-being. The Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), crucial for regional security, face high stress levels due to various demands. Somatoform disorders, characterized by significant physical symptoms without clear medical causes, can result from this stress among TNI personnel.. This study aims to determine the relationship between the level of work-related stress and somatoform disorders among TNI personnel at Rindam Iskandar Muda Aceh in 2023. The research employs a quantitative approach using observational analytics with a cross-sectional study of 237 respondents, utilizing the OSI-R and PHQ-15 questionnaires. The results indicate that the distribution of work-related stress levels is predominantly mild, with 155 respondents (65.4%) falling into this category. The distribution of somatoform disorders is also predominant, with 125 respondents (52.7%) experiencing minimal somatoform disorders. Based on the Rank-Spearman correlation test, the two variables have a significant relationship with a positive correlation direction.
