Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengevaluasi potensi tumbuhan pakan alami di bawah tegakan kelapa sawit sebagai sumber hijauan pada sistem Mini Ranch di Kecamatan Samarinda Utara. Parameter yang dikaji meliputi komposisi botanis, kualitas kimia hijauan, produksi biomassa, dan kapasitas tampung ternak. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Mini Ranch Kelompok Tani Guyub Rukun, Kelurahan Sungai Siring, menggunakan metode kuadrat 1 × 1 m² pada 20 plot yang ditempatkan pada kondisi ternaung dan terbuka di bawah tegakan kelapa sawit umur lima tahun. Analisis meliputi identifikasi spesies, kandungan nutrisi hijauan, produksi hijauan segar tahunan, serta kapasitas tampung ternak berdasarkan pendekatan Voisin. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat tujuh spesies hijauan utama dengan dominasi Brachiaria mutica dan Cyperus rotundus. Hijauan pada kondisi ternaung memiliki kualitas nutrisi lebih baik dengan protein kasar 16,57% dan serat kasar 27,76%, dibandingkan kondisi terbuka dengan protein kasar 14,78% dan serat kasar 29,70%. Produksi hijauan segar tergolong rendah, yaitu 4.128,36 kg/ha/tahun pada kondisi ternaung dan 4.590,60 kg/ha/tahun pada kondisi terbuka. Perhitungan kapasitas tampung ternak dengan Proper Use Factor 45% menunjukkan daya dukung hijauan hanya berkisar 0,00016–0,00017 AU/ha/tahun. Disimpulkan bahwa hijauan alami di bawah tegakan kelapa sawit berpotensi sebagai sumber pakan tambahan, namun belum mampu memenuhi kebutuhan pakan utama ternak. Pengelolaan lanjutan seperti rotasi penggembalaan, introduksi leguminosa, dan suplementasi pakan diperlukan untuk mendukung keberlanjutan sistem integrasi kelapa sawit ternak.
